Is your teacher a scammer?

Via several emails correspondences from students of for-profit U.S. based schools

For-Profit schools are hiring scammers as teachers.

Have you been scammed? Please email this blog about your experience.

We are not naming the school nor school teachers as it has been shut down, and the students being taught wrong have won court-cases to get their money back. Several students got refunds from school that closed down.

Here's how to check your teacher:

1) Does your teacher have a thesis publicly available? All Masters and Doctorial degree graduates have their thesis publicly available. Why doesn't your teacher have one?

2) Does your teacher have a portfolio? It is disgusting that a concept art teacher doesn't have any. Yo can give your teacher some recognition, if your teacher is on credit list of published games.

3) Does your teacher know what he's teaching?, or droning away at the PowerPoint slide?

4) Does your school have a track record, or are they they overpromising?

5) If your school teaches a game development component, do check out your teachers. Are they really teaching you, or if you google their names, are they scammers who don't know this and that?

This blog will never apologize to the schools, nor to their teachers. For brevity, this blog did not name the three schools that closed down.

This blog took down posts about certain schools, and awaited for court decision for student refunds, and/or remedies, upon request from the students of those schools.

This blog did reply to several students and, to take the matters to lawyer where their school teacher or teachers did not teach them correctly, or were absent, or their deadlines came and went, without proper supervision.

For students of those schools, your best remedy is to take the school to court to recover your school fees, or live up to your (student debt).

For the scam teachers, you have time to mend your reputation.

Where's the damn concept art in your portfolio?

Where's the damned participation in game jam?

Where's the damn animations?

Don't you feel shame teaching something you don't know of, where you don't have any expertise in the field you teach?
